On Thursday we went with the children to the Retro Cinema USMEV one of the first cinemas built in Košice.
The cinema was very popular since 1929, then closed for a while but in 2012 was re-opened and became popular again, so it was never closed again. Implemented with new technology, but the chairs, ticket office, and everything else remained the same.
Nowadays it has special attention in Slovak prodution, but also special projections for kids. We saw old films for children about traditional craft in Slovakia.
Then we had a workshop about ceramic with a lector in an Art school. We could decorate plates and bowls and we also had the possibility to try using the potter’s wheel.
Last part of the day was dedicate to traditional music and dances. A folk group showed us many traditional music instruments
And we could also appreciate traditional music, dances..
and costumes.
